This will have to be negotiated on an individual case basis.

Thank you - please read on..

As stated elsewhere, Andy Peate has compiled a considerable library of absolutely top quality jazz and swing backing tracks. There are many, many backing tracks sites online, which offer a wide range of popular music selections. Some of them contain jazz and swing backing tracks: most of these are usually specific arrangements of tunes done by popular jazz artistes (vocal or instrumental). The jazz backing tracks you will find here are Andy's own versions.

It will be just like having a high calibre jazz rhythm section in your own living room!

TERMINOLOGY - Swing Backing Tracks

Nowadays swing is regarded as synonymous with jazz. The enormous popularity of such as Michael Buble, Robbie Williams, and forays by the likes of Rod Stewart and Bryan Ferry have brought this genre to the forefront - not that it has ever really been away!! Swing backing tracks are therefore identical with jazz backing tracks.

JAZZ BACKING TRACKS - SWING BACKING TRACKS - MORE INFO

Andy Peate has indeed had considerable experience as a jazz performer, both as a front-line player on trumpet, and as a rhythm section player on keyboards. Not only this: he has had the opportunity to perform in a very wide variety of styles, from down-home Blues and New Orleans all the way through to post be-bop, fusion and Latin.

All this has undoubtedly given Andy Peate the practical experience and breadth of perspective to enable him to produce top quality jazz backing tracks.

The numbers Andy Peate has done are all jazz standards, and should all be familiar to anyone who is into jazz. The chord sequences are garnered mostly from the many charts that he has written down over the years, but also with help from the "Real Books" old and new, Grigson, Dick Hyman Vols 1 & 2, Lee Evans, the Frank Mantooth/David Baker series, and many others. These chords are necessarily his own interpretations and choices derived and distilled from all these sources.

It should be added that a large number of Andy Peate's jazz and swing backing tracks and chord sequences have been tried and tested under gig conditions at the highest level, and have the approbations of the many singers and instrumentalists Andy Peate works or has worked with, as well as those of knowledgeable punters.

SAX BACKING TRACKS - GUITAR BACKING TRACKS - KEYS/TEMPOS

FRONT LINE

These jazz backing tracks are equally well suited to vocals (male and female) and front line instruments. For instance they are totally suitable as sax backing tracks (or trumpet/trombone/vibes/flute/violin etc.).

RHYTHM SECTION

For those who might be interested in them as drums, bass, piano or guitar backing tracks, stripped down versions could be done if interest and demand are sufficient.

KEY SIGNATURE/TEMPO SELECTION

These jazz backing tracks are in the keys and tempos with which they are generally acknowledged to be associated. However, it has to be recognized that they can be done in many different keys for any number of reasons (vocal range demands and instrumental ease/difficulty being two of the most common factors). Tempo selection is discretionary, but ease of performance is the principal factor. Again, if interest/demand is sufficient, versions of these jazz and swing backing tracks could be provided in different keys/tempos.

JAZZ BACKING TRACKS - WHAT YOU WILL GET

SIMPLICITY

Andy Peate's aim here is to provide straightforward presentations of standard (mostly) "one-theme" numbers. Initially, these jazz backing tracks will mainly be four choruses in length, depending on length of chorus, and tempo.

INTROS

Most of the intros to these jazz backing tracks will be based on either the "last four" or the "last eight", but some are based on a four or eight bar sequence over a pedal note. In any event they are all very simple and obvious, and hopefully will create a really nice atmosphere to start each number!

OUTROS (Endings)

Some of these are standard within the chord sequence itself. Others are "extended endings". They can all be heard the world over on any jazz stage, and will be absolutely self-evident and familiar, and should present no difficulties at all!

Once again, if there is sufficient feedback, more complex intros and outros could be constructed. One will have to wait and see!

SO - WHETHER IT'S JAZZ BACKING TRACKS, SWING BACKING TRACKS, SAX BACKING TRACKS, GUITAR BACKING TRACKS, VOCAL BACKING TRACKS, OR ANY OTHER INSTRUMENT, YOU'LL BE ABLE TO GET THEM HERE!

IF YOU HAVE ANY COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS OR REQUESTS, PLEASE LET ANDY PEATE KNOW BY CLICKING HERE. THANK YOU
